You can put away your reading glasses when visiting the La Jolla Public Library and landing upon the “the largest book in the world,” according to Guinness World Records. The tome is titled: “Bhutan: A Visual Odyssey Across the Last Himalayan Kingdom,” published by Friendly Planet. With 114 pages containing mostly giant pictures, the book measures 5 x 7 feet when opened and weighs 133 pounds. On the market, it sells for $30,000. Conversely, the Wangenheim Room at downtown’s Central Library houses one of the smallest books in the world, a 24-page ABC picture book measuring 2.4 x 2.9 millimeters and weighing a scant 6.6 ounces.
