Over the last 20 years, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) has become a popular way for consumers to buy local, seasonal food directly from a farmer. For nearly a decade, Tierra Miguel Farm has been growing organic fruits and vegetables in nearby Pauma Valley, one of the last pristine agricultural valleys in California. You can become a member of the farm by joining the CSA for a year’s growing season. As a CSA member, you share the inherent risk of farming, from droughts, to pests, to wildfire. In exchange, weekly or biweekly produce boxes are delivered to members at pick-up sites scattered around the county. Members enjoy a great variety of seasonally available and vine-ripened produce right from the farm. Members also receive weekly newsletters with farm happenings, recipes, and information on the box contents. There are also frequent opportunities to participate in life on the farm — visitors are welcome!
