Q. How can I stay grounded during this crazy time of the year?
Keep secrets! Find a peaceful place nearby – a park or green space, a parking lot overlooking the coast, even your favorite store – and turn off your cell phone for 15 minutes. Breathe deeply and let your mind wander. It’s such a small amount of time, no one will even know you’ve just given yourself a relaxing time out.
Q. I tend to get overwhelmed during this time. What can I do?
Ask for help. There are probably several tasks on your list that can be delegated to a trusty child, spouse, or good friend. Don’t feel bad about reaching out for a helping hand.
Q. How can I avoid getting sick?
Keep up your regular fitness routine as much as you can right now. Keep taking those vitamins and supplements too. Treat yourself well with yoga or meditation – it’s not only relaxing but great for your central nervous system.
Q. I feel like financial pressures might make me quite “unwell” this season. Any strategies?
Keep a holiday budget, stick to it, and don’t give in to pressure to buy more than you can afford. Also, don’t succumb to guilty feelings about material things.
